Dr. Erik Nuveen's Resume

The keys to choosing the best doctor for your surgery are:

1. Appropriateness of Training.
2. Quality of Education and Credentials.
3. Experience, experience, experience!
4. The availability, kindness, compassion and sincerity of your physician.

Outstanding qualifications do not guarantee a successful outcome, but they can guide you to select a surgeon whose training and background will help you to meet your personal goals. Dr. Nuveen is rare and uniquely qualified in the Oklahoma region as holding both medical and dental graduate degrees in addition to subspecialized fellowship training in cosmetic surgery. Dr. Nuveen's practice is the largest in the state of Oklahoma with 5 locations and hospital privileges to provide all of his procedures in or outside the hospital. Dr. Nuveen is an international instructor in cosmetic surgery and spends most of his professional life involved in the education and training of physicians from throughout the world in the area of cosmetic surgery.

Dr. Nuveen’s father was an orthodontist and this experience led his son to earn his first graduate degree in dentistry from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, widely considered the finest dental school in the United States. He additionally devoted one year to research in the area of immunology and rheumatology. It was during this period that Dr. Nuveen developed his dedication to the subspecialty of cosmetic surgery. This came as a result of his exposure to cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face of children with facial differences and deformity. Dr. Nuveen then completed a total of 5 years of post graduate training in surgery of the maxillofacial and craniofacial region at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and MetroHealth Medical Center and Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He achieved his medical degree from the prestigious Case Western University School of Medicine as part of his residency education and training. This was followed by an additional year of general surgery at Penn State/ Hershey Medical Center. Throughout this educational course, Dr. Nuveen focused all of his elective time to the area of facial and cosmetic surgery with experts from Toronto Sick Children’s Hospital, UCLA Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente Medical Center (Los Angeles, CA) in order to provide his patients the highest level of care available. This impressive resume led to his acceptance into fellowship in cosmetic surgery of the face and body in Salt Lake City, Utah. This fellowship is fully accredited by the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and was the busiest of its kind in country. Fellowship training is the highest level of training and education available in the subspecialty of cosmetic surgery.

During this dedicated experience, he performed well-over one thousand cosmetic procedures in exclusively cosmetic surgery of the face and body. Since completion of his fellowship, he has provided over 7,500 surgical procedures to patients from throughout the world. This volume is unparalleled in the world of cosmetic surgery. This experience has led to more predictable outcomes as over 99% of our patients report in patient surveys that they will refer a friend or family member to our facility for their care.

His specialized education and dedicated focus to all aspects of cosmetic surgery and a background of medical and dental education make him extremely rare. There are only three other physicians in the state of Oklahoma with similar training, and we are all good friends. Perhaps most importantly, Dr. Nuveen loves what he does and his enthusiasm shows proudly.

He has well over 70,000 patient photographs for your evaluation and we would be happy to schedule you for a complimentary (no charge) consultation in order to answer any additional or more specific questions you might have. We would also be happy to send you a packet of information to help you make an informed decision for your care.

Dr. Nuveen provides his cell phone number and 24 hour on call services and availability to all of his patients. Never delay in calling to ask questions or to voice concerns during your recovery. This may be the single most valuable aspect of caring for patients.
